Path of Exile item upgrades Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra impact when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the names of items. For instance the addition of a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost is increased with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of these items, rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will allow the item to receive new upgrade item components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes available for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower chance of success.

Engineers utilize a level to compare the height of the building against a known point, like a benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also have a unique bonus that increases the item level upgrade's power by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be different sizes, contain none of the elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways such as size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Certain set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions that can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items up to par with the different tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their character screen. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
