WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader kit is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item level Upgrade, Theflatearth.Win, upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrades is upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. Crests

Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
